Thanks for the mention of my record dyschronometria, Stephan! Great list as always. I really enjoyed both the Raica album and Slow Blink. And I’ll definitely have to revisit The Nighttime Ensemble soon—I was organizing some Bandcamp downloads on my computer the other day and came across a couple of Longform Editions sets. That was one of my favorites!
I do have a large back catalog, yes, but these monthly columns about new ambient albums contain only very recently released stuff.
How do I find that? Well, I've been a music writer for a very long time, and I spend most of my days reading and listening to music. A lot of it is soon-to-be-released stuff I get sent upfront from my network of artists, labels, publicists and the likes. I also read many other newsletters, blogs and magazines, and I get recommendations from other music-obsessed friends and musicians that don't run newsletters. So there are many sources, and each month I pick the 5 to 7 'best' from dozens of new albums I listened to.

I am also reading Paul Kingsnorth new book! The audiobook is very lovely.
