Why I Abandoned My Kindle
Only paper books provide true refuge from the deafening noise of the web
For many years, I was a devout proponent of the Kindle.
Thanks to this thin, light electronic device, I was able to leave the house with hundreds of books.
I couldn’t imagine a train ride or flight without it and always made sure it’s charged and I’d downloaded a few new books to choose from.
I was glad not to carry paper books with me on thru-hiking trips…
