Thank you for putting together this interview! I almost didn't want to read it because I think music with this kind of atmosphere benefits from it eking out some anonymous nebula. But of course all good music comes from a real brain and real body parts, and it was lovely to learn more about who owns both of those
Fascinating piece. The point about slushwave becomeing ambient-adjacent rather than vaporwave-rooted kinda hits harder when you see how community formation works. Scenes that self-innovate instead of constantly referencing the origin genre tend to develop way stronger internal cohesion. I've noticed that happening with couple other micro-genres too.
Great piece. I've enjoyed a lot of what DSFWAN has put out, + knew next to nothing about him (thought he was Chinese, for one thing). I was sort of content not to know, but learning about him is a pleasant surprise. Thank you for that.
Thanks Shaggy. Yeah this whole series has been a similar experience for me – I've been loving this music and some of these artists for years and not knowing anything about them kind of added to the allure. At the same time, I'm a journalist and endlessly curious.
Great interview! Love DSFWAN!
One of my favourite artists

that Keytar is the effing best!
Right?! The only other people I've seen on stage playing one are Herbie Hancock and Chuquimamani-Condori.
and you can't mess with them!
